Source(google.com.pk)With each of our designs, we wanted to create a tee that makes you feel good inside, and that makes you smile when you think about how awesome our world and its people are. Below are the designs that we want to launch with this fall and a brief description on a few of our tee's.
Stamp My Passport: A map of the world made from passport stamps from over 50 countries!
Send Me A Postcard: A map of South America made from postcards from the various countries in South America.
How Do You Say "Hello": A shirt that says Hello in more than 30 different languages (a female version with a lady backpacker will be available too).
All the t-shirts shown below are available for this Kickstarter campaign! We have an "Essential" tee line that features our unique travel inspired shirts, along with our "Official" tee line if you just want to show that you are born to backpack.
If our project is funded, full size images of each design, available color options, and a shirt fit guide will be sent to each backer. We will ask for your shirt/color preference, shipping address, and shirt size at the end of the campaign. For now just note that for women we intend to carry XS to XL, and for men we intend to carry S to XL.
Born To Backpack is committed to doing “good business” and working in a way that benefits everyone involved, including Mother Earth and most importantly, YOU. Our goal is to bring you sustainable tee’s made from organic and recycled materials that reduce our carbon footprint while still being produced to the highest standards here in the USA. From the water-based inks we use to print our shirts, all the way down to the recycled mailers you will receive your shirts in, we are making every effort to bring you an eco friendly product that you can stand behind.
Born to Backpack is the result of an idea that Alex had back in 2007 while travelling through China. Yep, it has taken a few years to turn the idea into a reality. Over the years, the idea has taken many shapes, but the one thing that has remained constant was his desire to inspire people to travel more and become engaged global citizens.
Alex later moved back home to Los Angeles where he then met Crystal in a beach volleyball club. They quickly realized that they both share a deep love for travelling, and the ensuing collaboration and energy they put towards the project finally brought Born to Backpack to life.
"Tripp" is an Old English name for someone who is a traveller, and so it was the perfect name for the [BTB] turtle. So why a turtle? Much like a backpacker, a turtle is a slow-moving peaceful creature that wanders the 7 seas and roams 6 of the 7 continents by land. Additionally like a backpacker, a turtle carries everything it needs on its back.
We put a map of the world on the turtle's shell to represent that we carry the future of the world on our backs. In many cultures of the world, a turtle represents longevity, wisdom, and environmentalism, which are all values that Born to Backpack stands for as a company.
We have worked very hard to get this far. And along the way we had the option to choose the easy way, buy cheaper shirts that are made oversea's and out source production to other countries. But we wanted to bring you an eco friendly product that you can stand behind made right here in the good old USA.
On top of what we have personally invested to get this far it's going to take another $8,000 to bring these awesome shirts to life. Here's what we need the cash for:

Naturally, we want to give you a shirt that will remind you to work towards buying your next one-way ticket!
$5 or more: A [BTB] sticker that is made from 100% recycled fiber content and 30% Post-Consumer Waste. You’ll also get an invitation to our launch party in LA. (All higher tiers also include a [BTB] sticker and an invitation to our launch party.)
$10 or more: A personalized thank you on a [BTB] postcard and your name on our website on a page dedicated to honor our backers! (All higher tiers also include a thank you postcard and your name listed on our website.)
$25 or more: Your choice of ANY tee from our OFFICIAL t-shirt line. This shirt will be made with 100% organic cotton and the color options will be provided to you once the campaign closes.
$30 or more: Your choice of ANY tee from our ESSENTIAL t-shirt line. These shirts are made from either 100% organic cotton or a 50% organic cotton/50% recycled polyester blend (depending on the shirt you select).
$50 or more: Your choice of ANY TWO tees from our ESSENTIAL t-shirt line. These shirts are made from either 100% organic cotton or a 50% organic cotton/50% recycled polyester blend (depending on the shirt you select).
$65 or more: THREE Shirts. Your choice of ANY TWO tees from our ESSENTIAL t-shirt line, PLUS your choice of a tee from our OFFICIAL t-shirt line.
$80 or more: FOUR Shirts. An EXCLUSIVE t-shirt that will ONLY be made for our kickstarter backers that pledge $80 or more. Design to be revealed in September after the campaign closes, and we know you are gonna love it! Don’t forget you also need to choose two tees from our ESSENTIAL line and one more from our OFFICIAL line. You’ll also be receiving a handwritten note from Alex and Crystal thanking you for your generous support (all higher tiers also include a handwritten note).
$100 or more: FIVE Shirts. You get to pick 3 shirts from our ESSENTIAL line, 1 shirt from our OFFICIAL line, and you’ll get an EXCLUSIVE t-shirt that will ONLY be made for our kickstarter backers! Alex or Crystal will also be giving you a personal phone call to thank you for your support and to answer any questions you may have about [BTB] (all higher tiers also include a personal phone call).
$250 or more: One copy of EVERY shirt we launch with this fall (including the EXCLUSIVE tee)! You can customize the size of each tee so you can give them out as gifts to your friends and family! Also, send us a photo of yourself out travelling and we will post it on the webpage dedicated to honor our backers.
$750 or more: Born To Backpack t-shirts for LIFE! You will get 1 copy of EVERY shirt we make in any size or style. We plan on being here for a while just so you know!!! Includes the EXCLUSIVE kickstarter design, and your picture with a small BIO about you on our webpage that honors all of our backers!
$1,000 or more: Born To Backpack shirts for LIFE as well as your picture and BIO on our website. PLUS as a special thanks we are going to DEDICATE a new t-shirt design in your honor and print your name on the product tag of each of the shirts!
$2,500 or more: Everything mentioned above. PLUS we will fly you out from any major airport in the continental USA to come spend a weekend with us for our launch party. We are also going to list your name, picture, and a short bio in the “special thanks” section of the “Our Story” page on our website.
